I have a question or problem. Who do I contact?

If this doesn't resolve the issue then call the helpdesk on 6488 3814, or x3814 from a computer lab phone.
You can also fill in a Feedback/Problem Report Form.
The server seems to be very slow
As a large number of students are required to enter in their preferences, the system may appear to be slow at peak usage times. It is suggested that in this event, you either try the alternative server or wait a couple of hours and try again.

Why is one of my units disabled or does not appear?
Not all of the units have decided to use the online system this semester. Only units using the system will appear.
Units that are disabled will appear so for all students.
A unit that is disabled may be so because it will not be using OLCR or the unit co-ordinators will be enabling it later on.
I am enrolled in a unit but the online class registration system does not show me as enrolled. Should I be concerned?
Enrolment information is only provided to assist you in putting down preferences for the right units. There are several possibilities why a unit might not appear or the enrolment may be out of date.
The unit may not be using the online class registration system so it will not appear.
Enrolments are often checked manually and it can take a long time for them to be entered into the student enrolment database.
New enrolments will not appear on the OLCR system until the next day.
Note: OLCR lets you put down preferences and later add/change allocations for any unit using the system.
To do this scroll down to the large list of units further down the page.
These preferences will be used in the allocation.
Some of the classes do not appear or appear different to thoses listed on the timetable site.
Unit co-ordinators book venues and timeslots using the timetables site. These bookings may not accurately reflect how they are intending to use those bookings.
They also tend to book additional classes in case of unexpectedly high enrolments.

What happens if I don't put any preferences in for a online unit?
If no preferences are specified for a unit, the OLCR system will allocate based on the best fit for your timetable. It is recommended that you take the time to enter preferences for all available online units.
I have receive my allocated timetable and there are clashes! Why is this?
There are several possibilities.
Given your selection of units it might be impossible to find a clash free solution.
ie some combinations of unit enrolment have clashing classes that can not be avoided.
This is a problem resulting from the allocation of classes to times and venues. The Timetabling section of the university handle this seperately to OLCR. OLCR only handles the allocation of students into those classes.
The allocation system is not perfect. The problem of allocating a large number of students to a large number of classes is a very difficult one. Experience with the current system shows that most people should get their 1st or 2nd preference. If these preferences choices are clash free then the allocated timetable should be as well.
If you have issues (clashes etc) with your allocated timetable please contact the relevant department/tutor as soon as possible.
The OLCR system asks me to choose half my preferences from the unpopular classes but there arent enough tute choices to do this?
Please report this via the feedback page.
Note: Unpopular classes are listed first.
Why is there a separate web page for the timetables?
The UWA Timetable system is run separately to the OLCR system.
I must enter 5 preferences for 5 tutes but some of those tutes will clash
Give the clashing choices the last preference numbers.
You will probably get your 1st or 2nd preference and it will not be a problem
I have put a preference of 5 against one time and in another unit put preference 1 against the same time. Is it possible I will get my preference 5 and miss out on getting my preference 1 in the other unit
The allocation system processes difficult to allocate units first. If the preference 5 unit is processed before the preference 1 unit and your only workable option is your 5th preferences then the answer is yes.
Hopefully you won't get your 5th preference.
After the allocations have been made you may be able to change your allocation.
If not and this is really an issue then discuss it with the relevant departments/tutors.
I am not sure how many preferences I need to enter.
A message should be displayed that tells you how many to enter and where. If this message does not appear then please try and use a different web browser.
