Instructions for first time users

If you are a first time user of the OLCR system, please read the following instructions carefully.

Important Information:

The On-Line Class Preference Registration system is NOT a "first come, first served" system. It will record everyone’s preferences for their class times and store the preferences in a database.

Please Note: The OLCR system automatically logs users out after 10 minutes of inactivity.
During peak times this figure maybe decreased. OLCR will also automatically log users out after a total of 35 minutes.

Not all units are available for registration through the On-Line Class Registration System.  If you can not find your unit listed , please follow your departments' normal methods of registering for class times.

Work out your Tutorial Times:

You need to work out your Tutorial times before using the online registration system.  The timetables website has details of the scheduled times for each units lectures, tutorials, labs etc.  The site also contains help on how to best organise your timetable for the semester.

The timetable website is at the following location:

http://www.timetable.uwa.edu.au/

Accessibility

You may enter your preferences from any computer connected to the Internet including:

  • Home computers
  • Internet Cafes
  • University lab computers that are available to students, including:
    •  Reid Business Library (see Library for opening hours)
    •  Faculty Computing labs where access is allowed

Login Authentication

Your student Pheme account is used to log into OLCR.

OLCR Student Pamphlet

For full details on the OLCR system, there is a pamphlet available. Copies can be obtained at many student enquiry counters and labs on campus. You can also download it here:

General Recommendations

If you are experiencing any problems, please read the Frequently Asked Questions first prior to contacting Student Internet Support Office (SISO) for support.

Please Note: The servers may not be available during the early morning hours before 8am

To work with OLCR your web browser must be set to accept Cookies. This is the default with most browsers so you should not need to change any settings.

Only enter preferences/allocations for this semester. There are separate runs for each semester.

Some tutorials appearing on timetables are not available on the OLCR system. This is because the unit has booked extra venues in case they are needed to accommodate student in excess of the expected numbers.

Please avoid placing preferences for the same time slot. You can only get one of them at best. Remember to check for clashes with lectures and other classes that are not currently using olcr when choosing preferences.
View&Edit Timetable will only show units once they have been allocated.

To see allocation results use "View&Edit Timetable" on the menu or Add/Edit in the allocations column for the unit on the Units page.

If you have any questions or problems, call the Student Internet Support Office on 6488 3814 (3814 from an internal phone) during office hours or via email to support@student.uwa.edu.au
