On-Line Class Registration - Information for staff

If you are a current OLCR admin user please click here to be transfered to the OLCR admin system.

The University has implemented an On-Line Class Registration (OLCR) system to assist in the process of assigning students to classes.

This system allows students enrolled in certain units to:

  • Enter their class preferences for tutorials, labs and small groups.
  • To be allocated to classes with consideration of this preferences.
  • Add and Change class allocations within the limits of class sizes.

At the start of semester timetabling information is imported into OLCR.

Unit co-ordinators and school based staff (OLCR Admin users) go in and check class times, venues and layout and then configure additional options relevant to the student allocation process (eg when the students are allocated, do the students get to enter preferences, supply additional information on class attendance etc).

Because information has been imported from timetables most of the administration of units with in OLCR consists of minor changes and class size checks.

During the period leading up to the start of classes, OLCR admin users check class sizes to ensure every student has a seat.
Should classes be changed, canceled or added, this can done though OLCR with minimum effort by both students and staff.

Classlists from OLCR are available in a number of formats including excel downloads and 13 week attendance sheets.
A range of statistical data including live per class preference counts and clash information is also included.

To have your unit included on OLCR email ITS-help@uwa.edu.au with your full name and the units you will be looking after.

If your units have more complicated requirements (eg students attending tute 1 must also attend Lab 1 etc) then please include this information and someone will advise you on the best way to set this up.
